hey buddy, got a light?

Report: Plane lighter ban to be lifted
The Associated Press

NEW YORK - Airline passengers will be able to bring many types of cigarette lighters on board again starting next month after authorities found that a ban on the devices did little to make flying safer, a newspaper reported Friday.

Starting Aug. 4, air travelers will be allowed to carry on disposable butane lighters, such as Bics, and refillable lighters, including Zippos, according to The New York Times.

Security screeners collect an average of 22,000 lighters a day, and it costs about $4 million a year to dispose of them, The Times reported.

Four million bucks a year to keep Americans safe from terrorism caused by Zippos. Now if they'd only ban strong perfume.

dude, where's my car?

Everybody's a Winner in Car Promotion

Everyone's a winner after a direct-mail marketing company hired by a local car dealership mistakenly sent out 50,000 scratch-off tickets to residents - all of them declaring the ticket-holder the $1,000 grand prize winner. Just one of the tickets was supposed to be the grand prize winner.

...

In a statement, Force Events apologized "for any inconvenience this may has caused car shoppers in the Roswell market" and asked that any questions and concerns be directed to the company.

Yeah, I've got a question - Where's my car??

no wonder she left you

She's Gone Oh I, Oh I'd
better learn how to face it
She's Gone Oh I, Oh I'd
pay the devil to replace her
She's Gone - what went wrong

I'm guessing you recognize those lyrics as the chorus from the '80s Daryl Hall & John Oates hit, "She's Gone," presumably about a love lost.

I'd like to offer that the answer to the question in the last line of the chorus, "What went wrong?" may be found in the second to the last line.

Perhaps she didn't want to stick around with a guy who's so quick to want a replacement.
